How to setup email account in Thunderbird

Asked by Leaw-ning

Hi all, I know this has been asked quite a number of times, but I still can't manage to setup my email account on Thunderbird, and this is the main reason why I still stay in Natty instead of going to Oneiric. I hope someone here can help me.

The problem is most of the websites show how to setup email accounts in Thunderbird using IMAP or POP, but my company IT support told me that my company email is an microsoft exchange email account which does not support IMAP and POP. Is there still possible for me to setup my exchange account in Thunderbird?

Thanks for any input. ^^

Hi, thanks for the reply. How to check who is the email provider? It is my company mail, and it uses microsoft exchange. I can set it up in evolution using mapi, but i can't set it up in Thunderbird.

I am not sure thunderbird can talk to exchange, you may need evolution

Is there a way to integrate evolution into Unity in Ubuntu 11.10? Like when I click on the email icon on the panel, it will open up evolution instead of Thunderbird. How can I do that?

Just set Evolution as the default email client and it will happen. I use gnome-gmail and unity-gmail which males my OS use the web browser / gmail web ui for all email things

Can you help with this problem?
