When will we finally get TeXLive 2009

TeXLive 2008 is already the old version, so when will we get an up-to-date tex system with all the sweet and needed features?

TeXLive 2007 is just getting obsolete

Ubuntu gets its packages from Debian, and Debian never got TL’08. Tex Live 2009 has not yet been released, but Norbert Preining has been working on getting TL’09 into Debian (Unstable) as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, you can install TL’08 yourself, outside the package manager.
