Version of Synergy in repos contains critical Unity-related bug

The current version of Synergy in both the 12.04 and 12.10 repos contains a bug where pressing the Super key causes a disconnection. Since a lot of the functionality of Unity requires pressing the Super key, this is a serious bug. A bug report [1] states that this problem can be solved by upgrading to a later version of Synergy (>1.3.8). However, the version in the repos is still 1.3.8, which means that the problem will persist for another 6 months at least. Are there any plans to include a later version?
