Synaptic Package Manager and Update Manager fail after bad aptana install. giving this message: E:Malformed line 59 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)'

the error occurred after running this line in the terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository 'deb http://archive.canonical.com/lucid partner'

Not a bug. Typo in command.

Remove the line you added by editing the sources list:
gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Then try again with a space before 'lucid'
sudo add-apt-repository 'deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner'
