Simple Game / Games Install

Asked by Siestacane

I'm new to Ubuntu, I had a little Fedora experience.
I've downloaded kdegames-4.7.4, and unpacked it.

Now I'd like to install all or just one of the games.

As a long time windows user I'm used to seeing an ".exe" file at this point.
I tried using Synaptic Package Manager, and I tried help...I'm lost!

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10, and the kdegames-4.7.4 was indicated (google search summary) for this version.

What do I do?

first you would want to make sure you are up to date by running the following command in terminal

open terminal by pressing CTLR + ALT +T
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

you use the ubuntu software center to install and remove applications.
http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/features/ubuntu-software-centre

you can also use terminal.

please see this guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuSoftwareCenter?action=show&redirect=SoftwareCenterFAQ

im on ubuntu 11.10 and kde games are listed separately in the Ubuntu software center.

Can you help with this problem?
