Enable the partner repo in the software centre and run:

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin

Sorry, I'm kind of a noob, could you be more specific about enabling the partner repo?

In software centre -> Edit software sources and you can enable it in there

Ok, I did all that and here's what the output from the Terminal was

Did you enable the repo?

ALso try running:

sudo apt-get update

first, then retry

The repo is the checkbox in the Other Software tab that says Canonical Partners correct? Cause I have that enabled. Tried doing the sudo apt-get update, that ran just fine, tried the install command again, go the same message.

Did you check to make sure the plugin was enabled through the preferences menu? Try this: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
