Converting Mp3's

I need a program to convert from Mp3's into a format that'll play on a standard stereo, if someone could tell me the program and the file format i need to convert to cheers.

What mean standard stereo...
Might be wav is your format...
The program you can try is soundconverter

Using System → Administration → Software sources [Ubuntu software] please enable the Universe the repository.

Then open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install soundconverter

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Then go to Apllications → Sound & Video → Soundconverter
