Klipper tells me 'mcu' unable to connect

Hi

I have loaded Ubuntu onto a laptop to run Klipper for my 3d printer. When i try and connect my windows laptop (through Mainsail) to the Ubuntu laptop with Klipper on it it tells me that it cannot connect:

mcu.error: mcu 'mcu' : unable to connect.

I do not know why this is happening, please help.
