transfer cd's to mp3 programs that i need

i am looking for software for transfering cd's to mp3 and ipod for my linxus labtop is my os. which one do i use on my lab top
linxus don't let me use window media player on here please help me find software from ubuntu thank you my e-mail is

To play Windows media player and mp3 and other youtube, etc. just add the 'ubuntu-restricted-extras' package from the Ubuntu Software Center (aka Add/Remove..., under the menu Applications)

Ubuntu has Sound Juicer which is installed by default I think and will help you extract CD audio files to Mp3. If not in your case, just install it from the Ubuntu Software Center. You may also browse at the list of proposed software under the category of sound and video, etc.

For ipod, I don't know (don't use it)
