package will not install non pae processor cannot install new software package system broken clicking repair fails

I have Ubuntu 12.04 on a Dell Latitude D400 installed using command forcepae == forcepae and the OS works fine until update. After update the system indicates that my package system is broken and the issue is related to having a non-PAE processor in use. Is there any way to reject that particular package and fix my package system? I cannot access the Ubuntu Software Center without it asking to repair the package system, which due to my non PAE processor, the unmet dependency cannot be met. Any way around this so I can install my utilities like I had on Ubuntu 10.04LTS?
