I loose internet connection for no apparent reason?

I can log into facebook etc, when the internet connection is lost . I get a big rectamgle message that says cannot connect to server , I am running Cylon Linux 12.04 also cant download packages for updates?? Im brand new to linux so please help a brother out .

Cylon Linux is not supported by the Ubuntu community in any way. It's support community is entirely separate from Ubuntu's. I suggest you post on their forum
