Beginning on ubuntu: is it able to run windows games?

I was using windows since i started using computers ( when i was 3 years smashing the keyboard)

anyway i got mac too

but eventually got bored of booth

now decided to see what ubuntu got

Just so you know I DID NOT USE A SINGLE LINUX NETHIER KNOW THE THE KERNEL ETC THINGS!

I will eventually be able to setup it my self but i got a question

Is it able to run windows games?

ya know

is there anyway to make it run .EXE files????!!!?!?

That page has how good and if at all the game will work. WoW deffinately runs well (If memory servers better than under Widows)

There are mixed messages on this issue. Some extreme gamers report that the games that run OK under Linux run slower. My advice would be not to totally commit until you know what will run OK and what won't. You always have the option to install a dual boot system and have the best of both worlds. Before you attempt to install, make sure you have all data backed up. It is not unknown to trash everything during and install. Oh, and whatever you do, if you want to game, don't install from within Windows, install from the boot-CD having booted it. Putting the disk in while Windows is running gives you an option to install on top of Windows. This would not be the best solution for you.

Guys i just want to know a way to run exe or windows games on the ubuntu i am planning to get

You caan install wine from software centre and the install using that. The link above shows how and if the game runs.

Some work, some don't
