It depends on what file you downloaded, but here's a better way to upgrade to Firefox 4 pre-natty: type "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable" in the terminal. Then upgrade with "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade". This will not only upgrade to FF4 but provide you with automatic updates in the future.
