Unable to install Secret Maryo Chronicles

Asked by Brian Smith

I've played this game in the past on a different PC, and really liked it. I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my current machine. I found the game through the Ubuntu Software Center, but cannot install it.

When I try, I receive this message:

Requires installation of untrusted packages

The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources.

Details:

libboost-filesystem1.42.0 libboost-system1.42.0 libcegui-mk2-1 libdevil1c2 libfreeimage3 libmikmod2 libsdl-image1.2 libsdl-mixer1.2 libsdl-ttf2.0-0 libsmpeg0 libxerces-c28 smc smc-data

After that, my only option is to close the window. Is this normal? If so, then why is something listed in the Software Center that is not compatible?

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; sudo apt-get update

Thanks

I would just ignore it.

There are official "Canonical" packages and they are "trusted". There are non-Canonical packages e.g. OpenOffice which are "untrusted"

It just means that you can expect formal support from Ubuntu for official Canonical but you should look elsewhere for the rest. E.g. OpenOffice should support OpenOffice and not Canonical.

It doesn't mean that untrusted is bad.

Sure but we can import a key and make life smoother, as arochester states, it's not bad but the system will keep reminding you

To actionparsnip:
I ran that command in Terminal, and the update solved the problem. Thanks.

To aerochester:
It couldn't be ignored, because the installation was aborted when I received the error. Believe me, if I could have ignored the warning and installed the game...I wouldn't have posted the question here.
