add/remove not available in 10.04

Asked by Bernie Bell

I have just installed Ubuntu 10.04 and when I download things like Avast, or anything else for that matter, I am told that I need to open with another application, the documentation tells me to open Add/Remove from the applications dropdown menu but add/remove does not seem to exist...

IN UBUNTU 10.04 there is no option like 'add/remove'. In order to add & remove software you should visit 'Ubuntu software Center'.
And for using .exe files you should have 'wine' installed on your pc.
You can get wine from 'Ubuntu software Center'.
Application -> Ubuntu software Center.

New to Ubuntu: read the Ubuntu Manual, it's very informative: http://ubuntu-manual.org/
Click on the "download Button" to download the latest PDF version.

Please prefer native Ubuntu app or alternative than install app with wine
