How can I configure and run slidentd ?

I've installed slidentd but I haven't found any doc telling how I should configure it and run it.

How should I proceed in order to get slidentd properly running over Ubuntu ? I'm using Edgy.

I never used slidentd, but I found out the developer web page:
http://www.uncarved.com/static/slidentd/

You can read also read the manual page (which is basically the web page):
$ man 8 slidentd

The default configuration should be correct and secure.

Thanks for the reply, but I've followeed these instructions and nothing happen. When I connect to IRC using xchat, the IRC networks still get my real login as a ident, not a random one as slidentd promises.

How should I proceed ?
