Asked by begie

Hi there!

I just installed my ubuntu 10.04 LTS version, and about to download skype but cant download it says "/tmp/skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.81-1_i386-3.deb could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.

Try saving to disk first and then opening the file."

Please help.

Thank you.

If you run:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

Is it smooth?

If so then enable the partner repo in software centre and skype will be available to you.

Jaunty is no longer supported in ANY way. Karmic and Hardy desktop are also EOL (End of life later this month). Jaunty support ended a while ago. I suggest you upgrade to Lucid

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS
Release: 10.04
Codename: lucid

not sure if this is right.. i open the terminal ang type the lsb_release -a and thats the result.
