Skype webcam

I downloaded Skype for Ubuntu 10.10 and I can im but the vid chat does not work, the audio does. I went to skype options and did video test and that didnt work anyone help?

I can not see my self of the other person, they can see and hear me though.

where did you get it from? i suggest you get it from the repository by enabling the partner repos in software sources. after installing it from the repo, there's a wrapper script for it that would enable your webcam under skype.. you can run it by invoking it's filename in the terminal. just open a terminal window and type "skype-wrapper" without the quotes and then hit enter.
