Ricoh MP 2001L scanner software for Ubuntu 11.10 not working in Ubuntu 12.04

We Purchased a Ricoh MP 2001l Multi Function Printer/Scanner The printing function works Fine on Ubuntu 12.04 machines in the LAN. But when scanning request is given the message " No scanners detected is shown" The deb package available for ubuntu 11.10 from Ricoh web site was tried but it is not working in Ubuntu 12.04 Machines.
