Ubuntu ver 12.04 Epson Workhorse 630 Scanner - Simple Scan 3.4.3 does not work?

I'm using Linux Ubuntu version 12.04 operating system with an Epson Workhorse 630 Scanner & Printer. I can't scan anything, only the printer function works. I tried using the Simple Scan 3.4.3 - Oubuntu1, but it didn't find my Epson Workhorse 630 Scanner. I would like to be able to scan docs from my Linux Ubuntu operating system. I'm new to the Linux OS, so please explain in detail what I need to do to make my scanner work. Thanks in advance for your help. Mike

Those things usually use iscan drivers, try and find packages for iscan and iscan-data
