shotwell package

Does shotwell send my pictures out of my computer over the internet when I accidently hit "export". or just to my desktop file manager?

I am new to "shotwell" and I am not clear what "export" does plus I don't see a ready clear explanation in the help file.

No, "export" does not send your pictures somewhere, it is just a means of getting the pictures "out of shotwell" and saving them (possibly with a different resolution and/or in a different file format) somewhere on your computer: http://yorba.org/shotwell/help/share-export.html

Uploading the pictures, e.g. to facebook or flickr, is called "publish" in shotwell's terminology:

Thanks for time & the quick reply to my issue. I was concerned over privacy.
In the future I will look first to "support tracker" as you suggested.
