Changing date on downloaded photos

Asked by Heckler

Hello, I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and shotwell photo manager. I downloaded a bunch of photos from my sony camera and noticed that the year on all the pictures are wrong. I suspect the camera setting is at fault however I was wondering if there was a way to manually change the year for all the photos - i.e. year showing is 2008 when really they were 2011. I have tried however I don't see any place to do this. Your help would be greatly appreciated and keep up the good work. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
maybe you just need to change the exif header data in your jpeg photos. Try jheadh or look for some exif header manipulation tool.

You can easily change the photo dates within Shotwell. See
