forgotten password root wont reset due to password requested for maintenance

forgot password for admin cant update computer try to reset password but the computer ask me for the root password for maintenance i dont have got computer from a friend

How do you mean 'trash computer'? How is that contributing to the question?

You can easily reset passwords by holding SHIFT at boot, select recovery mode, select root then run:

passwd foo; reboot

change foo for your username. Eg:

passwd andy; reboot

You can now log in as your username with your new password.
