I am trying to install an epson cx 7400 scanner in 9.0; I did it in 8.04 but I can't remember how.

Asked by vladesq

I have an all in one epson cx 7400. I installed it in 8.04 and everything worked. I can't remember how I got the scanner to work. Can I get it to work in 9.0????

Did you check the site epson.com for a driver?

Or you have to choose System > Administration > Printing.

The only drivers that Epson provides are for Mac and Windows.

Going to System\administration\printing doesn't help because I'm looking for a way to get the scanner to work; the printer always works in Linux.

Tom,

No matter what I try, I get a message that says: UNABLE TO GET EXCLUSIVE LOCK: This usually means that another package management application (like apt-get or aptitude) is already running. Please close that application first.

Where have I gone wrong.

Thanks for your help and patience.

Thanks, Tom. After trying everything that I thought would work, I went to the website you recommended and followed instructions. I had to reinstall Sane and reboot. Everything works now.

Thanks again,

Joe
