Samba installation prob in ubuntu studio

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.

It seems that the list of available packages to install on your system is not properly synchronised.
You should try the following commands to synchronise it again and then try to install samba again:
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then, try:
sudo apt-get install samba

If you get into trouble again, try this list of commands:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

The try again:
sudo apt-get install samba

And then if after all this it is still not working ;-) you have really bad luck, but you could always execute the following command, and we could go on helping you:
aptitude why samba
