pppoe internet

After successful installing Ubuntu 9.10, when I configure ADSL PPPOE Internet connection using sudo pppoeconf cmd, the internet works properly.
But when I restart the system, I am unable to get IP from MODEM and unable to connect to internet
Pls Help.

You have to type the following command in a terminal:

sudo pon dsl-provider

and your connection will be up. Also you can set up the connection to be managed by Network Manager. Go to System --> Preferences -->Network Connections and on DSL tab (last one) and Add a new connection. Check the "Connect automatically" option and add your data (user name, password etc).
