hi! shaileshmer,open a terminal and type:
sudo pppoeconf
and enter your password,it will not appear on screen but you can type the passwordd and press enter
then answer the questions asked and type your username and password for bsnl internet connection
then type:
pon dsl-provider
to start your connection,and type:
poff dsl-provider
to stop your connection

well thankyou very much for the response but i have already tried configuring but it's still the same and i am not using bsnl it's my local isp i spoke with him aswell but when i use windows os it works fine it's just with the ubuntu please help!!!!
