Hello.

Please be more specific, so we can find out what's causing your problem. The first thing that comes to my mind is a partition-related problem, but I can't be sure until you post a message and tell me more about the error message displayed by Rhythmbox and how were you trying to import the music.

All the best,
Daniel

Thanks for the reply,
When I try to import files I get an error message stating that the contents could not be displayed ( Error stating file'/media/disk' No such file or directory). When I was trying out the live cd I had no trouble getting into my music files. Thanks for a little schooling.

Can you boot on Windows normally? Can you access the Windows partition from your file manager, e.g. Nautilus, on Ubuntu?

Generally, you can access Windows from the /media folder, if it is already mounted. Alternatively, a GUI file manager generally displays the Windows partition in the tree navigator. You can also use the mount command from the console if you know the name of the partition Windows is installed in:

sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt

In this case, the partition is sda1, which is really common. Sudo will ask your password, as you need root access to perform mount operations. After this, you can access the Windows partition from the /mnt folder.
