with 16.04 menu bar does not work with rhythmbox 3 +

this bug has already been reported. and with
 killall unity-panel-service
the menu bar works again but i have to do this every time i start

Seems to be the problem described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XenialXerus/ReleaseNotes#Unity_7

The developers are working on the problem, please be patient.
