no sync tab in device properties

I have an android phone that I am trying to sync music on Rhythmbox. My device comes up as a 16GB storage. When I right click the storage device, and select 'properties', the only two tabs that I have are 'basic' and 'advanced.' My understanding, from posts I have read, is that there should also be a 'sync options' tab. There are no sync options listed under the basic or advanced tabs.

How can I enable the 'sync options' tab?

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 with Rhythmbox 0.12.8.

Lucid is no longer supported on the desktop. I suggest you upgrade to Precise which you can do in one jump as it is LTS to LTS. You can also do a clean install. Precise is supported til April 2017.
