record my desktop no sound

Asked by charles navish

I would like to record some things on-line and on my desktop with "record my desktop". When I run the program it will not record any audio. I'm not using a microphone or any other device, I just want it to record what I hear with the speakers. I guess that would be with just the audio card? Sound quality box is checked, and "default" is chosen under the advanced>sound settings menu. How would I get it to record the audio I hear from the speakers?

I don't know if it works.
You could install and use Audacity, but it's a little heavy software for just recording. I used it on Windows for such a tack and it exists on Ubuntu.

Figured it out, I installed Pulseaudio, and it allows me to change the sound settings and recording source.
