13.10 saucy usb microphone

Asked by lunix

The sound manager keeps dropping off my Logitech USB microphone and switching to an analogue mike.
This is very annoying. Click on the speaker ICON. Then click on Sound Settings. Then click on Input.
Often clicking on the preferred Microphone Ubuntu is not following selection. For example if I have
both an Analogue and a USB Microphone on the system. Clicking on the Analogue highlights the choice but
the switch doesn't ake place. Sometimes, the system will switch to the analog Microphone all by itself
stopping the USB Microphone requiring me to bring up the window and select the USB Microphone again.
Its very intermittant and is happening on multiple machine including some friends. This did not happen
prior to switching to Saucy.

Is this a know issue that is being worked on?

After further testing it appears as though Skype is causing this issue. Sorry for bothering anyone.
