Remove Pulse Audio from System Monitor

I removed Pulse Audio using the Ubuntu software centre but it is still showing in the system monitor, how do I remove it, as its still showing as default in the options box in Skype.

killall pulseaudio

should do it, you can remove a package but if it is running it will comtinue to run.

Or you could just reboot. Probably easier.

I have tried but does't work, have uninstalled Skype and then your recomendation but it still appears in system monitor. When skype is reinstalled it defaults to pulseaudio. Just can't get rid of it.
