When are you going to update this prehistoric version?

This version is sooo old. Prey has changed a lot. Can you update the version please?

Please create a bug report with a request to update to the new version.

As far as I can see, also Debian has only the 0.6.2 version. So it might be reasonable to also create a bug report in the Debian system.

Ok - but tell me why I have to report this to Debian when I initially report this on Ubuntu?

Ubuntu is copying parts of its software from Debian, and as far as I can see this is also true for the prey package.
To avoid double work Ubuntu will most probably not start packaging a new version of prey, if Debian will sooner or later most probably have an updated package that can be taken over by Ubuntu.

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

There may be a PPA.

Then it will never be updated. Utopic is no longer supported in any way and there is zero development happening for it.

I suggest you upgrade to Vivid (Ubuntu 15.04) for continuing support

False alarm, it is still not working for me. Ubuntu 15.04 still has the old prey version.

I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the version will be updated
