Not sure about the conversion but you can open PDF files with the latest version of Inkscape if you are looking to copy some content out of a PDF.
"Open Office" will allow you to save a file in a MS Word format.

Openoffice can open pdf using an extension http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/pdfimport but you cant edit the document as a wordprocessor usually can do, the imported document is opened with OpenOffice Draw not with OpenOffice Write, so you can edit the doc row by row but you can't export or save it as doc.

Then if you are interested to extract the entire text content from pdf you can use:
- pdfeditor http://pdfedit.petricek.net/screenshots_en.html
- pdftotext http://linux.die.net/man/1/pdftotext
- pdftohtml
...

Here a good list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PDF_software

Please tell better what are you tring to do...: get text contents or... ?

Hope this helps

You could use pdftoabw and then AbiWord.

Can you help with this problem?
