Splash screen customization... Ubuntu 10.10(amd64)

Ubunto 10/10(amd64) is installed and I prefer to change the splash screen. I prefer to delete the current splash screen and place a .png file with the same resolution in place of the Ubuntu splash screen. Shall you assist me?
