Can I build a video from power point files and a signal from a microphone

Asked by ROBERT

I need to prepare a video which simulates a conference presentation. I can prepare the visuals using Open Office Presentation and I can get a microphone that will plug into the speaker/miicrophone connector of my machine. My plan was to make the power point presentation and associated audio files and then use these files to prepare my video file

Does my version of UIbuntu have the capabilities of accomplishing this task? What additional software is needed? Will it be open source or downloadable free of charge. Are there any problems associated with an microphone?

I have never built a video and will greatly appreciate any assistance that you can give me.

Maybe:

You can then use one of the many video editing softwares available for Ubuntu and add an audio track

Or use a screen record software and run the presentation full screen and talk. Give that a try too. It's closer to a real presentation

Thank you for your suggestions. I hadn't thought of the screen recording software. Experiments are now in order. I may come back with more questions.

Again my thanks!
