Just import the MP3 file, and then drag and drop to the audio line.

How do I do that? All I can do is do an "Import Clips" option. I'm running 10.04 LTS if this helps.

I have been using the latest update in the repository, and you have the option. To update to the newest PiTiVi version, open a Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), and write "sudo apt-get install pitivi", without quotes.

I opened the terminal, and all it said it was at the latest version.

Here is what it said:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install pitivi
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
pitivi is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$

Have you tried to import the MP3 file with the Import Clips option?

can I know what is the error? have you install ubuntu restricted extras?

The error is that it won't allow you to import sound clips. What is said is basically that it can't import that. No, I have not installed Ubuntu with restricted extras.
