can one download a video from a camcorder with pitivi

Can I connect a Canon camcorder via a firewire card to download video from the Canon? It works on the same pc that also has an alternative op sys Windows XP on it.

It's not important how many OS are on your PC. The only way to know if is possible is try, so connect your cam and see what happen
