why does rendering not work?

Asked by De Cora

i have three 'clips' i imported. i have cut them and rearranged the cuts to make a video, with a single audio track.

when i 'render' it, and play back with a movie player like mplayer, some of the cuts are just black, no video. another cut, when i go 'frame by frame' in pitvi, appears as though it should start at a certain point, but in the rendered version, the 'cut' actually starts a few seconds after it is supposed to.

is there any workaround for these bugs?

all three videos are .flv files.

Hi, please file a bug report, with detailed instructions to reproduce the bug, and any errors that may occur in the terminal (or debug logs).

In your case, you can create debug logs by running pitivi like this:
PITIVI_DEBUG=*:5 GST_DEBUG=2 /usr/bin/pitivi > debug.log 2>&1
Then compress and attach the log file to the bug report.

If it happens only with specific video files, providing samples of such files may be helpful.
