Adding tracks to the timeline

Is there a way to add additional tracks to the timeline? I want more than two video tracks because I'm overlapping png files with transparency and I want them to visibly overlap.

There seems to be such a feature. But it is not displayed as additional tracks but as opacity of a track that is overlapping another.
See page 13 in pitivi's user's manual (http://www.pitivi.org/manual/PiTiVi%200.13.4%20manual.pdf).

Okay, I figured it out. I have to select a video file already in the timeline and drag it down towards the audio timeline and it will start creating more layers on top of it.
