new unbuntu 8.10 user can not load software

i am trying to install the drivers that came with the motherboard. i get a message stating auto run is disabled. can anyone tell me how to enable auto run, thanks.

you dont use that CD. Those drivers are for windows. Ubuntu is not windows

Which piece of hardware do youo need drivers for?

thanks for your reply. you answered my question, i do not need drivers. i also tried to install autocad 2000 with no luck. the same auto run disabled message showed. i use the help and support in unbuntu alot but nothing about auto run. my thought since your reply is that autocad 2000 is a windows based program and will not install on the ubuntu only barebone kit. is that how you see it also. thank you very much for your help to very, very new linux/ubuntu user.-----

You can install Autocad using wine. Wine is an abstraction layer to help run windows apps but it is by no means perfect. Some apps run greta. Some don't run at all.

You will need this guide to get the latest wine:

I would try and find a Linux native CAD app instead. It will be more stable and run much smoother.
