Pidgin Messenger makes noise!!!!

Hi,
I am using Pidgin Messenger in Ubuntu 9.04.

When I got an instant messege, or got an login sound of somebody,
Sometimes Pidgin makes speaker noise.. "Zzzzziiiiii"
T.T help me

Do you simply want to disable sounds altogether or are the sounds somehow different than they used to be?

To disable the noise do the following:

1) Bring up your pidgin buddy list
2) Goto Tools->Preferences
3) Goto the Sound tab
4) Change "Method" under "Sound Method" to "No Sound"
5) Close the box
