Pidgin got a Problem to get in with Username

I downloaded icq 6 with a new icq number, username and password. Now i wanted to log in at pidgin. But it doesn´t work. The Account is deactivated. Why?? Can i also put in my number because there is just space for my username and my password, and they are all right?

When using ICQ, your username actually is your number. If you fill it in then there should be no problem activiating your account.

Please make sure that you have updated ubuntu, since my pidgin needed an update some months ago to get online - it said something about "client version too old".

Besides, I will change the language of this question to "english" if you don't mind :-)
