Pidgin IM don't show up

i am using ubunut 11.10
i have installed pidgin IM and i was able to open up for first time....
after that when i used the system later, i.e. when i start pidgin it will show an icon in launcher... even after clicking on it, it didn't show up i can only see a icon in side launcher thats it..................
please help

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep pidgin

Try:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pidgin-developers/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

May help

If not then try:

mv ~/.purple ~/.purple_old

Then rerun, you will need to readd your accounts but does it run?
