pidgin connection when online
I am using k10.10mm and pidgin 2.73, was working the other day alright, but now wont even connect as waiting, but cant
cant even configure manually. how do I get to connect? my k10.10 is a testing o/s, so when I get it fully operational
I will use with my dual boot xp pro

Try closing pidgin then running:
mv ~/.purple ~/.purple_old
Then rerun the app and make a new profile, see if it is the same

command thru sudo?, then restart thru the k menu?
as I just closed pidgin and then issued "mv ~/.purple ~/.purple_old" and
click on the icon to start from the task bar but still nothing?

I never mentioned sudo.....
Just make sure pidgin is not running, then rename the file.

The command I gave renames the folder. ~/.purple holds the pidgin config (handy for backups)

I am sorry I misunderstood I thought you were saying that I have to rename the file,not that the command renames the folder!, it seems to be working, but I am not using any
other application at the moment, and when there is a email, I click onto the tab and
it auto loads thru Google chrome to log into my hotmail account!, so thanks
