Parameters with Pianobar

Asked by Eric Carlson

Is it possible to pass parameters to pianobar?
For example, with one line of input to the terminal, can you launch pianobar and enter your credentials?

Yes. See http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/maverick/en/man1/pianobar.1.html if you are running Ubuntu 10.10, or http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/natty/en/man1/pianobar.1.html if you are running Ubuntu 11.04.

In general, you can find out what parameter syntax command-line programs (and sometimes other programs) take by running the command

man programname

where programname is replaced with the name of the program (as you would type it to run the program). So, another way to see the pianobar manual page is to run:

man pianobar

Can you help with this problem?
