pastebinit no longer works

The default pastebinit in 8.04 LTS has stopped working, refusing to recognize e.g. http://
which is the recommended choice on #ubuntu.
An effective workaround was to install the binary package for pastebinit from the lucid repository into 8.04.
Since 10.04 is so near, it may not be worth backporting this into 8.04 (not my decision).
