pls help me when i tried to extract Eclipse downloaded from eclipse.org Archive manager error gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file tar: Unexpected EOF in archive tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

when i downloaded eclipse from eclipse.org i tried to extract it using archive manager. then it gave error message like this:

Archive manager error gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file tar: Unexpected EOF in archive tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

what should i do to find a solution. please help me

The file that you downloaded seems broken. You should verify the MD5 checksum value, and if that does not agree (what I assume) delete the file and try a new download.

Are you aware that there are eclipse packages available ready-packaged for Ubuntu from the standard software sources?
