ssh key Generation

I am having trouble getting ssh keys built/generated. Help. Is there a step by step, been at this for a while, must be something simple I am missing. Like to a true tutorial, with a good solid example not with aliases real demo text.

It's the same on any distribution or release of any distribution. Create key, copy key file to remote system using scp or simple copy and paste, then append to the end of (or make a new) ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file for the user you are SSHing as.
